1. OVERVIEW The Ontario Energy Board is approving changes to the rates that Hydro Ottawa Limited (Hydro Ottawa) charges to distribute electricity to its customers, effective January 1, 2024. Hydro Ottawa serves approximately 358,900 customers in the City of Ottawa and the Village of Casselman.
Hydro Ottawa collects this money and pays this same amount to its suppliers. As a residential customer, you have the option of buying the electricity you use through the Regulated Price Plan (RPP) where you are charged a regulated price per kilowatt hour (kWh) by Hydro Ottawa for the electricity that you use.
Other charges can include the costs of administering the wholesale electricity system and maintaining the reliability of the provincial grid, the Ontario Energy Rebate, account set up charges, interests, taxes and more may appear on your monthly bill from Hydro Ottawa. Was this page useful?
