From ESS News Chinese energy storage specialist Hithium has used its annual Eco Day event to unveil a trio of innovative products: a 6.25MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS), a specialized sodium-ion battery for utility-scale energy storage, and an installation-free home microgrid system.

Hithium has developed the ∞Cell N162Ah, a Sodium-ion Battery cell designed for large-scale energy storage projects. The sodium-ion cell leverages a polyanionic cathode paired with a hard carbon anode. It also incorporates advanced materials to enhance conductivity, cycle life, and performance across temperature ranges.
In a 2-hour configuration, the battery cell is 587 Ah. While in a 4-hour scenario, the cell reaches 1175 Ah. The highest capacity lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell yet, the 1175 Ah model is on track for mass production. In preparation, Hithium plans to begin global delivery of the 6.25 MWh BESS by the second quarter of 2025.
